Frequently Asked Questions

Q. When do I get paid?

A. Payments will be made weekly into your nominated bank account by each Tuesday, subject to the submission of your signed and approved timesheet to us by 6.00pm on the preceding Friday.

Q. What should I do if I am unable to attend work due to illness?

A. You will need to notify your Consultant by 9.00am that morning, who will then contact your manager immediately. This will allow us to arrange cover if necessary and ensure that your workload is being managed while you are away.

Q. Does my hourly rate include superannuation?

A. No. Your hourly rate excludes superannuation. During your assignment, we will make contributions to the default Recruitment Services Superannuation Fund (RSSF) or your nominated super fund on your behalf, at the legislated 9% of your hourly rate.

Q. Am I entitled to paid holidays?

A. As a temp, your hourly rate will include an element that covers any time off you may need. Your employer may still be willing to give you time off, especially in the case of long term assignments, however it is unlikely you will be paid for this time.

Q. What is the appropriate dress code when I am on an assignment?

A. Generally speaking, the standard of dress should be neat and professional, and reflect the dress code in place in the client's environment. However, for some assignments there may be a more casual dress (eg. back office roles). Please ensure you clarify this with your Consultant before you start an assignment if you are unsure.

Q. What if I am unhappy in my current role?

A. Your consultant is available to provide you with support throughout the duration of your assignment. Always speak to your Consultant if you are unhappy at work. It may be a problem that can be quickly and easily addressed.

Q. I am enjoying my current temp role, but ideally I'm looking for something permanent. What should I do?

A. Working as a temporary contractor is a great way to learn new skills and gain exposure to new and different areas. It will also provide you with valuable contacts and references for the future. Of course, we would prefer that you see out your current temp contract, but your consultant will be happy to keep you in mind for suitable permanent vacancies as they arise. Always maintain an open relationship with your consultant so they are aware of your long term career goals. If you are looking for permanent work, discuss this with your consultant. There may even be a "temp to perm" opportunity in your current role.

Q. I have been asked to undergo an Induction. What does this involve?

A. Upon commencement of an assignment, you may be required to undergo an induction process. An induction may include familiarisation with the host employer's company policies, OH&S, product training or computer training. If you have any questions about the process, please speak to your Consultant.

Q. I have to complete some documents for a 'probity' check before I start this assignment. What is probity?

A. Many of our clients require temps to undergo probity checking and is usually completed as one of the final steps in the recruitment process. A probity check comprises contacting former employers, verifying academic qualifications, conducting criminal history checks and other verification elements. If you are required to undergo probity checking, your Consultant will go through this process in more detail with you.
